    Senior Hayes Thomas doubled, singled and drove in three runs as the 19th-ranked Elizabethtown Panthers mercy ruled the Nelson County Cardinals, 12-1 in five innings Monday in 5th Region baseball action at Panther Baseball Park.

    Elizabethtown (18-9) won for the fifth time in six games, while Nelson County (10-13) lost for the sixth time in 11 contests.

    Junior Jake Goodman (5-2) struck out two, walked one, gave up three singles and didn’t allow an earned run in four innings of work. Senior Micheal Thomas worked a scoreless fifth inning.
