Dora Davis

Dora Davis, 86, of Leitchfield, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Springview Health & Rehabilitation.

Survivors include a son, Harvey Davis; and two daughters, Elizabeth Saltsman and Janette F. Conkwright.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. CDT Saturday at Watkins-Oller Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with burial in New Harmony Cemetery.

Visitation begins at noon CDT today at the funeral home.   Eula Frances Jeffiers

Eula Frances Jeffiers, 80, of Boston, Ky., died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

Survivors include four sons, Cecil Marcen Jeffiers, John Douglas Jeffiers, Joseph Michael Jeffiers and Timothy Albert Jeffiers.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Sunday at Kappel Funeral Home Boston Chapel with burial in Valley Cemetery in Spencer County.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and continues from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and at 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.   Eleanor Wesley Light

Eleanor Wesley Light, 82, of Lexington, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. 

She had worked with her husband at his job at Wycom.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur “Red” Light; her parents, Henry Mark and Daisy Helen Buckles Wesley; and a grandson, Steven Marcus Banks.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Wesley Whitler of Browntown, Ind.; two daughters, Evelyn Whitler Chandler of Tucson, Ariz., and Helen Whitler Banks of Versailles; and a sister, Faye Wesley Best of Danville.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Clark Funeral Home, 3000 Versailles Road, Frankfort, with the Rev. Steve Cherry officiating. Burial will be private at Rosecrest Cemetery in Versailles. 

Visitation is from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora is in charge of local arrangements.

  Louise Walters Logsdon

Louise Walters Logsdon, 88, of Glasgow, formerly of Horse Cave, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at T.J. Sampson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Sue Moss; and four sons, Kenneth Logsdon, Billy Joe Logsdon, A.G. Logsdon and David Logsdon.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. CDT Saturday at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville with interment in Horse Cave Cemetery.

Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. CDT today and continues at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.   Rodney Howard Owens

Rodney Howard Owens, 46, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Owens; and a brother, Richard Scott Owens.

Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Linda Owens; a son, Scott Owens and his wife, Alaine, who was like a daughter to him; a daughter, Stephanie Lynn Owens; three grandchildren who meant the world to him, Haileigh Briann, Alivia Grace and Hannah Burke Owens; his mother, Luvina Owens of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Karla Cundiff and Melissa Owens, both of Elizabethtown; and a brother, Kenneth Owens of Elizabethtown.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with burial in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and continues at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Gloria Renee Porter, 28, of Vine Grove (Flaherty), died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

She was a full-time student at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.

She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Louis Porter; and her father, Adrian Louis Durbin.

Survivors include her husband, Jeromy J. Porter of Flaherty; two daughters, Adrianna Porter and Katelin Porter, both of Flaherty; a stepson, Aaron Porter of Leitchfield; her mother, Anita Durbin of Vine Grove; four sisters, Carolyn Conley of Fort Rucker, Ala., Sarah Durbin of Bowling Green and Mary Durbin and Janie Durbin, both of Louisville; two nieces, Shelby Jane Conley and Adrian Santanna Durbin; and her grandmother, Maxine Hinton of Leitchfield.

The Mass of Christian burial is at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Flaherty with the Rev. R. Paul Beach officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin Catholic Church Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and continues at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff. A prayer service is at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
